Using Diigo in the Classroom
Maggie Tsai from Diigo is doing a workshop this Saturday morning (Feb 2) as part of the local Classroom 2.0 workshops organized by Steve Hargadon. She’s looking for educators who are currently using Diigo in their classrooms to showcase in her workshop. If you aren’t familiar with it, Diigo is a social bookmarking tool with extra features like highlighting and adding sticky notes. My daily bookmarks posts are created automatically with Diigo; any time you see a quote from a site in my bookmarks posts, I used Diigo’s highlight feature.
They also have something called Webslides that allows you to create a “tour” of webpages based on your bookmarks. Here’s one I created from some of my links for the MS Science course I’m developing. Note that these aren’t in any particular order; I just left them in the order I bookmarked them. This seems like something that could be really beneficial in synchronous online training like webinars, although I’ve never seen it used for that.
